My name is Bonnie Dunleavy, and I am the owner of Salvage Flair, a unique specialty shop in Galway, NY. I opened my store out of my love for my community and my passion for repurposing salvage.
At my shop, you will find an eclectic mix of one-of-a-kind pieces. I take discarded gems, friendly give always, and carefully purchased relics I have found to be unique, rare or out of the ordinary and do my best to breath life back into them with a Flair all my own. Whether I am repurposing, restoring or simply cleaning up, I take 'what was' and make it current for today, creating furniture, lighting and other home goods for those who share my vision of preserving the past in a way unusual, swank and meaningful.
In my store, you will also find gifts I have carefully purchased to compliment my repurposed inventory, and I only work with wholesalers who can offer me quality, safe and affordable products. Some of the things you will find are soaps, candles, jewelry, Saratoga Peanut Butter, chalk paint & brushes, stencils, Garland, wreaths, Primitive accessories, cards, Balsam & Fir from Maine, furniture hardware and treatments, toys, Edison bulbs, and cage lighting just to name a few.
In my store, I also carry a large assortment of Aprons, Tank Tops and Pincushions I make from Vintage Linens, Bottle Sacks from towels and fabric remnants, Sweater Babies I create from old garments and sweaters, and pillow coverings from an eclectic mix of fabrics. I also carry crocheted items made by the grandmother of a very close friend. My mom, Lorraine Ford provides me with watercolor and oil prints in various framed forms, as well as quilted & embroidered items. My aunt, Diane Ford, supplies me with small framed watercolor prints and my cousin, Sally Manor, offers a wide array of oil paintings. You will also find in my store, a complete card collection by Theresa Smith and jewelry by the very talented artist, Jennifer Young-Canton.
